Daniel Rueth from Navarre, FL United States
This is a book that takes you deep, deep into the history and philosophy of the Church. While its academic rigor is unquestionable, what is most impressive about this book is its tone. Although it ultimately dismisses modern skepticism and atheism, it does so without being "dismissive".
Following the model set out in the Gospels, Fr. Barron always engages in productive, respectful debate - "upsetting a worldview predicated upon the primordiality of competition and ontological violence, replacing it with a vision predicated upon the primordiality of relationship and mutual indwelling."
